Trigonal Shipbroking Solution
The Shipbroking Solution is suitable to all sectors of sale and purchase and chartering broking covering dry cargo, container, tanker, gas and offshore markets.
Trigonal's shipbroking suite is made up by the following modules, available on stand-alone basis, or as a fully integrated suite, supporting straight-through-processing of data:
The Vessel Database is the central part of the solution, where vessel and positions data are stored. The database provides a consolidated view of main vessel particulars, current position, commercial and trading history, and notes. The integrated Document Management functionality enables storage of questionnaires, T/C descriptions and other key vessel information as attachments. Furthermore, users may create links to the messaging application for fast retrieval of vessel related messages. Comprehensive vessel characteristics may be viewed by a single mouse-click, and the database has been future-proofed by the facility to add user-defined vessel characteristics. Modifications to data fields are recorded, creating a full audit trail. The database can be configured for data feeds from the client's preferred data supplier.
- Comprehensive Vessel Database
- User Defined Fields
- Integrated Document Management
- Audit Trail
- Optional Automatic Third-Party Data Feed Update Management (e.g. IHS Fairplay, Lloyd's List Intelligence)
- Role Based Access and Update Permissions
- Vessel Position List Management
- Fixtures Database
- Cargo Orders Whiteboard
- Position & Fixture Quick Update Utilities (launched from messaging system)
- Incoming Position List Parser (updating vessel position database from position list messages)
Position List Application
The Position List application enables users to create searches to project vessels' ability to meet defined laycan dates in selected load/delivery areas based on Open Port/Zone, vessel speed and embedded distance data. Department level geographic zones and individual user-level ballast matrices improve the accuracy of ETA projections for individual trading desks. Positions can be quickly updated using update utilities accessible from the messaging system. Position lists can be produced in the user's own report formats and exported straight into the message system's editor.
The Fixture Database holding all recorded fixture data enables users to quickly view recent or historic fixtures for particular trades. The Fixture Database is linked to the Position List application, enabling projection of open positions based on the fixture's calculated voyage duration. Likewise, long positions can be projected for vessels on time charter based on the calculated T/C duration. Users can configure the Fixtures Alerts Whiteboard to provide instant notification when new fixtures, matching the user's filtering parameters, have been saved by colleagues. Fixtures can be quickly updated using utilities launched from the messaging system. Fixture reports can be produced in the user's own report format and exported straight into the message system's editor.
Cargo Orders Whiteboard Application
The Cargo Orders Whiteboard allows users to share cargo order data with colleagues. The user-configurable filters minimize information overload, and alert users to cargoes that match their configured requirements. The Cargo Orders Whiteboard is linked to the Fixtures Database enabling users to create a fixture on the basis of cargo order data, thereby minimizing manual data entry. Market reports can be produced in the user's own report format and exported straight into the message system's editor.
Sale & Purchase Modules
The S&P application allows users to organize all commercial information relating to a vessel for fast and easy retrieval when market opportunities arise. Valuations, market intelligence and other commercial advice can be quickly recorded and searched on. When entering a vessel for sale the application will search for matching purchase enquiries. Vessel sales can be quickly searched and market reports produced for circulation to principals.
- Commercial History Tracking
- Sales & Valuations Database
- Client Purchase Enquiry Management
The ports module enables users to manage and centralise all of their Port data and information. In addition to static information relating to the port (facilities, contacts, restrictions etc) users can also track port costs and status updates. The Ports module and the Vessel and Fixtures databases benefit from two way integration allowing users to jump seamlessly from one module to the next on the linked information.
The Company module enables users to manage and centralise all of their client’s data and information for quick access to key details. Users can search on multiple parameters for required clients and then drill down to see the grouped fleet, fixtures, cargoes, enquiries and commercial information for the selected client.
The Company module and the Vessel, Fixtures and S&P databases benefit from two way integration allowing users to jump seamlessly from one module to the next on the linked information.
General characteristics for all modules:
- Powerful searching capability on any combination of parameters.
- Flexible report generator enabling users to define report formats for repeated use.
- Integrated to client's chosen messaging system and address book.
